Her Campus Hosts 4th Her Conference™ in New York City

NEW YORK, NY (June 17th 2015) - These are the country’s future Anna Wintours, Cindi Leives, and Joanna Coleses—and they will all descend upon New York City July 25 and 26 with their smartphones, lip glosses, and – of course – business cards in hand for this summer’s most defining event for future media-ites. That’s because Her Campus Media (HerCampus.com), the #1 global community for college women with chapters at more than 270 colleges and universities, and leading college marketing firm, is hosting its 4th annual Her Conference on July 25 and 26 at Convene’s Financial District location in New York City. The event will bring together the country’s top college journalists and future media mavens for a weekend of career development, inspiration, networking, and beyond.

With the support of sponsors Amtrak, Social Superstore, Intel Corporation, chloe + isabel, and Chipotle, the two-day conference will feature panels such as “Does the Devil Really Wear Prada?: Life In An Entry Level Editorial Position”, “Let’s Get TECHnical: Leading Ladies in Tech”, “How to Make Your Start-up a Success: Entrepreneurs Share Their Stories”, “The Business of Blogging”, “Building a Career in PR”, workshops on networking, leadership skills, interviewing and more, plus interactive sessions on how to grow your Her Campus chapter for those attendees involved with the Her Campus chapters at their colleges.

Speakers hail from the dream employers of today’s budding media-ites, with speakers from Cosmopolitan, Lucky, Rodale, People.com, SELF, OK!, InStyle, The Wall Street Journal, XO Group, Buzzfeed, DoSomething, Rent the Runway, LinkedIn, Birchbox, ClassPass and more.

This year’s conference will also feature four preeminent keynote speakers: Michelle Tan, Editor-in-Chief of Seventeen, Lisa Arbetter, Editor-in-Chief of People StyleWatch, Neha Gandhi, VP of Editorial Strategy at Refinery29, and Terri McCullough, Director of No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project.

In addition to career-minded panels, workshops and keynotes, conference attendees will be treated to free lunch from Chipotle and opportunities to score amazing giveaways. Deluxe goody bags loaded with products and samples from coveted brands will also be given to all conference attendees. Amtrak will also provide round trip travel to 50 lucky attendees from the tri-state area to the conference in New York City.

Presenting sponsors Amtrak, Social Superstore, Intel Corporation, chloe + isabel and Chipotle will be integrated throughout the event, with creative activation stations, collateral branding, special contests, giveaways, and more, making it clear to the conference’s roughly 600 collegiette™ attendees that these brands stand behind them one hundred percent as they conquer college and the real world beyond.

“Our annual Her Conference is Her Campus’s largest career development event of the year, and an incredible opportunity to connect the media leaders of today with the media leaders of tomorrow, providing our attendees with an unparalleled learning and networking experience and affording our sponsors unprecedented access to this coveted group through innovative integrations throughout the weekend,” said Her Campus Co-founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Kaplan Lewis.
