Junior Designer

Her Campus Media is hiring a full-time Junior Designer to join our design team in our Boston headquarters beginning immediately. As the leading college media and marketing company, we conceptualize and execute original integrated marketing campaigns for the world’s top brands such as Apple, IKEA, L’Oreal Paris, ASOS and more. Our designers create the award-winning visual solutions for these programs, collaborating with a cross-functional team from across the company. The team also serves a variety of in-house design needs ranging from brand identity development and marketing to editorial and social media design, all furthering our mission to reach and empower college women in every aspect of their lives.

We are seeking a creative and resourceful candidate who has an eye for detail, a can-do attitude, and who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who can adeptly apply her aesthetic sensibility and innovative mindset to a variety of campaigns and projects and is interested in being a part of a team.

The Junior Designer will report to the Senior Designer and work closely with other members of the design team. Responsibilities:

  • Support sales team through the maintenance and creation of sales materials, digital mockups and custom concept art for potential campaigns

  • Contribute designs for special editorial initiatives including infographic series, social media creative, custom content packages, gift guides, and more

  • Create original graphic designs and concepts for company’s integrated marketing campaigns

  • Design apparel and other merchandise for hcxo.shop

  • Design identities, digital and print collateral, and branded merchandise for our global network of campus chapters

  • Assist with design production, vendor communication, file preparation, and print ordering as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field

  • 1-2 years prior graphic design internship or equivalent experience

  • Mastery over Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

  • Portfolio showcasing digital and print work and demonstrating passion, technical excellence and creative approach to projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage with/in copywriting, production, and e-commerce related tasks when necessary

  • Ability to operate with a high level of efficiency and attention to detail simultaneously, while maintaining organized and clean files from the inside out

  • Ability to process complex, multifaceted requirements and produce a cohesive, intentional design

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and receive critical feedback well while maintaining an upbeat, proactive attitude
