Her Campus Hosts 3rd Annual Her Conference in New York City

NEW YORK, NY (July 9th 2014) - These are the country’s future Anna Wintours, Cindi Leives, and Eva Chens—and they will all descend upon New York City this weekend with their smartphones, lip glosses, and – of course – business cards in hand for this summer’s most defining event for future media-ites.  That’s because Her Campus Media (HerCampus.com), the #1 global community for college women with chapters at more than 240 colleges and universities, and leading college marketing firm, is hosting its 3rd annual National Intercollegiette Conference on July 12 and 13 at the Columbia University Faculty House in New York City.  The event will bring together the country’s top college journalists and future media mavens for a weekend of career development, inspiration, networking, and beyond.

With the support of sponsors Intel Corporation, Amtrak, LUNA, and Chipotle, the two-day conference will feature panels such as “Does the Devil Really Wear Prada?: Life In An Entry Level Editorial Position”, “Let’s Get TECHnical: Leading Ladies in Tech”, “How to Make Your Start-up a Success: Female Entrepreneurs Share Their Stories”, “Behind the Blog: How Top Bloggers Found Their Niche”, “Doing Good: Opportunities in Social Enterprise and Cause-based Careers”, workshops on negotiation skills, fueling your body right, money management, and more, plus interactive sessions on how to grow your Her Campus chapter for those attendees involved with the Her Campus chapters at their colleges.

Speakers hail from the dream employers of today’s budding media-ites, with speakers from Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Lucky, Teen Vogue, Women's Health, Food Network Magazine, The Huffington Post, Southern Living, OK!, Us Weekly, New York Daily News, Kickstarter, Tumblr, Glam Media, Ogilvy, DoSomething.org, Unilever, Random House, NBC, and more.

In addition to career-minded panels, workshops and keynotes, conference attendees will be treated to free lunch from Chipotle, snacks from LUNA, a jewelry sample sale and opportunities to score amazing giveaways. There will also be a technology station set up for attendees to experience the latest Intel-powered devices made for work and play. From tablets, portable all-in-one PCs and 2 in 1 devices, which offer the mobility of a tablet with the power of a laptop, Intel is powering devices to meet everyone’s needs. Deluxe goody bags loaded with products and samples from coveted brands will also be given to all conference attendees.

Presenting sponsors Intel Corporation, Amtrak, LUNA, and Chipotle will be integrated throughout the event, with creative activation stations, collateral branding, special contests, giveaways, and more, making it clear to the conference’s roughly 600 collegiette™ attendees that these brands stand behind them one hundred percent as they conquer college and the real world beyond.

“Our National Intercollegiette Conference is Her Campus’s largest career development event of the year, and an incredible opportunity to connect the media leaders of today with the media leaders of tomorrow, providing our attendees with an unparalleled learning and networking experience and affording our sponsors unprecedented access to this coveted group through innovative integrations throughout the weekend,” said Her Campus Co-founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Kaplan.
